I think that it means 'hi' or 'hello'- at least, I hope so!
I wanted to leave Carmi a Chinese greeting, so looked it up on Google. My ex-neighbour was taking Madarin Chinese classes a while back so I showed it to him. (After I'd posted it on the blog, of course!) and he was a bit doubtful...but he could tell me that the part on the right-hand side signifies 'house'!
You are very kind for doing this! I'm afraid my written Mandarin is pretty pathetic. But I DO work alongside someone who is fluent in it. So I'll ask him when I see him this week.
Thanks! I am very humbled and honored by your gesture.
“Character - the willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life - is the source from which self-respect springs.” (Joan Didion, novelist).
I'm hanging out with good friends and a large bottle of vodka, giving up tears for laughter; why don't you join us?

I'm hoping Carmi can tell us!
